Week 17: Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants ~ MAVS ~ Happy New Year

GO Cowboys!!! 9-6 (wins ~ losses)
We WON the NFC East Division!
Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants (away team ~ home team)
Sunday, December 30th at 12:00 (Noon) CST on FOX

Sunday, Sunday Sunday...

The Cowboys play the New York Giants, another division rival, who is already out of the running for the Playoffs. The Cowboys clinched the NFC East in the game last week vs. Tampa Bay.

So, what do you do when you barely make it into the Playoffs and you need to rest your players, but you also want to win in order to get a better seed in the Playoffs?? The game becomes a pre-season game on steroids. The Giants are going to play their best players for a while but they will also see what young guys can do to build on for next year.

What will the Cowboys do? There's a mix of all things happening, not sure it's all going to work.

Who is confirmed to play?

Dak Prescott (QB - quarterback) - for how long? Probably three quarters? Unless we're losing badly like we did to the Colts.

Zeke (RB - running back) - same as Dak... dude's legs are so tired and once again, this is only his second full season in the NFL... he's feeling it! I believe they'll try to sit Zeke more than any other player because we have to fix our Red Zone issues and we need Amari Cooper to get into a groove! However, Zeke wants to win the NFL Rushing record for the second time in 3 years. It looks like he'll do it, but I say he gets 75 yards, just to secure it and beat out Todd Gurley (he's 183 yards ahead entering Sunday's game).

Sean Lee (LB - linebacker) - he's been out off and on with his hamstring injury but is looking to play this week to get momentum going into the Playoffs!

Who isn't playing?

Tyrone Crawford (DL - defensive lineman) - his neck is injured and he's going to heal up before the Playoffs.

Zack Martin (G - guard) - his knee is injured and he's going to heal up before the Playoffs.

David Irving (DL - defensive lineman) - he's been out for a long time, no word on him being back before the Playoffs.

There are a lot of other players that will be a game time decision.

The risk is not playing all of your starters and leaving Dak exposed with an inexperienced O-line (Offensive Line). We can sit Zeke, but we want to win and he's a major part of every victory we've had.

The Giants...

They have a LOT of injuries. So like I said earlier, they will be playing to win and playing a lot of young players to see what their team will be like in 2019. OBJ is out and Eli is still trying to prove that he's the QB of the future. When you think Dallas is a mess, just watch the Giants.

These two teams will always want to win vs. one another! It "should" be a good game! If the Cowboys start to mail it in, then I predict we lose in the first round of the Playoffs. We're not mature or consistent enough to take the back seat on this one.

GO MAVS!!! 16-18 (wins ~ losses)
We lost six straight games and then we beat the New Orleans Pelicans on December 26th and the lost to them last night.

Doncic, Barnes, Matthews, Barea and Jordan have been holding their own. Each guy has shot a game high in either points, rebounds or assists in our last 8 games. I'm glad Docnic's hip issue was never serious. I'm not sure where we'd be without him!! He's averaging 19.5 points per game and has an average of 6.6 rebounds per game, second to DeAndre Jordan.

If you haven't gone to a game... go to one! It's fun!! When we win.

Random Info...
Instead of making a resolution this year, just do something.

Anything you've wanted to do and never done.

Talk to the person you avoid. Forgive, heal, and move forward!

Take the trip that you've been planning. Be financially responsible, but life is short and you need to make memories, not just own STUFF!

Clean out your house!! I am doing this starting next weekend! The month of January is detox month! And do not go BUY a book on how to Detox... just start donating and throwing away things you do not use, but don't spend more money to replace them.

I'm talking to myself on all of this.

You can prioritize without setting yourself up for failure. If you've never stuck with a resolution, stop making them. Just call the person you've needed to call on January 2nd and say "hi."

Life is short my friends. Don't let work or anything else consume you.

Loving people is the most rewarding act you can ever do. Because God first loved us. And through His love, we can pour out and encourage others! Pretty amazing and nearly impossible without Him.

So, go love people!! You'll feel better about yourself too!

Oh and enjoy fireworks!!! They're my favorite!

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Week 17: Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles ~ Mavs ~ College Bowl Games ~ Happy New Year

GO COWBOYS!!! 13-2 Tied for 1st in the NFL  with the NE Patriots  (league) 1st in the NFC  (conference) 1st in the NFC EAST  (division) Sunday, January 1st Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles 12:00 Noon CST on FOX This is the last week of the Regular Season, and the Cowboys are looking to win their 14th game! I'm still in disbelief! Not that a regular season record means that much, the New England Patriots were undefeated in 2008, 16-0, and lost the Super Bowl to the New York Giants . Those darn Giants; they keep coming out of nowhere.  Speaking of the Giants, since the Cowboys lost to the Giants in Week 14, Dak Prescott  has completed 47 of 56 pass attempts, for 491 yards, 3 TD's ( touchdowns ) and ZERO interceptions. Nice comeback kid!  If the Cowboys win on Sunday, and Prescott plays a few downs, he will set a Rookie record winning his 14th game of the season.  The Game Sunday...  This ga...

Texas Rangers Mitch Moreland Walk-Off ~ PGA Championship ~ Dallas Cowboys

GO RANGERS !!! 61-44 2nd in AL  (Indians lead, we're 1.5 games ahead of Toronto) 4th in MLB  (2 games behind Chicago Cubs in 1st) There are 57 games left in the season... in order to win 100 games, we will need to win 39 of the 57. That is 68% of the games left. Since the All-Star break, we've won 46% of games played.  So, the numbers may not match up for the 100 game goal. But who cares?!?! I think the Golden State Warriors proved that regular season win records don't mean as much as if you could win it all!!  Last night...  I was fortunate enough to attend the Rangers game last night. Yes, where Michael Young was inducted into the Texas Rangers HOF. And maybe even more remembered for Mitch Moreland's Walk-off Home Run in the bottom of the 9th! The evening started off with a wonderful ceremony and a really cool tribute from former teammates of Michael Young. Watch the 2 min video on Twitter . Jeter is on there!!! #RE2PECT ...
