Week 15: Dallas Cowboys vs. Indianapolis Colts ~ MAVS ~ A few of my favorite gifts

GO Cowboys!!! 8-5 (wins ~ losses)
1st in the NFC East
4th in the NFC (National Football Conference)
Dallas Cowboys vs. Indianapolis Colts (away team ~ home team)
Sunday, December 16th at 12:00 (Noon) CST on FOX

We had an ugly win on Sunday against the Eagles. We scored points, because we had Amari Cooper. A sacrificed first round draft pick got us 3 TD's that helped us win the game! That and Brett Maher's 62-yard field goal. We're not going to talk about the 45-yarder that he missed. Bottom line... they got the job done and Zeke managed to run vs. their D-line, which was impressive.

It's week 15. Everyone is worn out. Football, like every sport is about endurance, strength and the willingness to win.

Playoffs... Playoffs...

The Colts need this win, at home, to make it into the playoffs and edge out Miami. Stat predictors give them a 23% chance of obtaining a Playoff spot.

Dallas needs to win one of their last three games to make it into the playoffs. I'd love for it to be this weekend, because then you can give guys rest. However, some of the best teams are the teams that play their way through Week 17. If we keep playing hard and winning, we will secure a higher seed in the Playoffs. We may be playing the Saints or the Rams. We'll know more after this week.

The Colts. They have Andrew Luck as their QB. He's a Stanford grad who has not had an easy run in the NFL. However, like Dak, he's helped his team win six of their last seven games, which puts them at 7-6 on the season.

T.Y. Hilton. This is their star WR. He has almost 1k yards on the season and six TD's (touchdowns). His ankle got messed up and he didn't practice this week, but I am almost 100% sure he will play on Sunday. They need this win badly, so they need their best players, even if they're 80% healthy!

Indy's D. They're ranked 14th vs. the pass (when Dak throws it to a receiver/running back/tight end) and 8th vs. the run (when Zeke runs the ball). We've played Defenses like this, aka the Saints. They were much worse against the pass, but I think we can do what we did against them and get Zeke the ball on short routes if they're closing lanes for him to run. Depending on the play calling (what our Offensive Coordinator does), we should be able to creatively get open and give Dak options to throw to.

The Cowboys. We're a little roughed up. Zeke didn't practice because of his shoulder, but he will play in the game Sunday. Tavon Austin has a groin injury. Cole Beasley has a foot injury. Zach Martin is out with a knee injury (he may miss his first game after 77 starts in the NFL). Which is a lot on our Offense. Most of these guys will play Sunday, for the same reason T.Y. Hilton will probably play! We need this win and, they play for their team. This is probably the best part about team sports. You learn that even if you're not 100%, it is okay, your teammates have your back. Life should be like that too! Make sure you have good teammates!

Dallas' D. Y'all, Randy Gregory. This dude has had five sacks in seven games. I don't care about his roughing the punter penalty vs. the Saints, that dude let him through and how are you supposed to stop your momentum? He's more than made up for it! He was out a few days this week for family issues. The team assures everyone it's not substance abuse, so he will play on Sunday. Luck may not be so lucky if Gregory, Smith, Vander Esch and Sean Lee are on the field. Yes, Lee is back from his hamstring injury, week to week.

How will this play out? Dallas will shutdown the Colts run game, because they don't really have one. This forces Luck to throw, which he is great at and has more weapons than just T.Y. Hilton. Look for them to get creative and throw to multiple options on their WR corps. He threw over 50 passes in their loss to Jacksonville and over 40 passes in their win vs. Houston last week. It's going to be a busy day for our secondary, but we have one of the best secondaries in the league. I still can't believe I'm saying that!

In any must-win situation, teams will force the ball, make a few mistakes, and try to monopolize time of possession (time where your team has the ball). This is key for Dallas to make sure our Offense is on the field enough to get points on the board, and give our D a break from running after WR's and Luck throwing the deep ball.

Cowboys win, but it's close.

GO MAVS!!! 15-12 (wins ~ losses)
Rookie after rookie. DSJ last year and now Doncic. Doncic has played in 26 games this season, averaging 17.8 PPG (points per game). 6.8 RPG (rebounds per game), and has a 15.8 PER (player efficiency rating), fourth highest on the team.

If we keep building and playing like this, we may be in the Playoffs next year?

Except for the game Thursday night vs. the Suns. Sheesh. We couldn't make a basket! And it was Dirk's first game back this season!!! He played 6 minutes, had one 2-pointer, and one defensive rebound. It wasn't his best showing, but he's back! We'll see how he meshes with the team and the momentum they have built over the last 11 games.

So, we won three in a row and lost one, won two in a row and lost one, won three in a row and lost one. Our next game is on Sunday vs. the Kings. Let's hope it's a start to a win streak of four in a row!

Thoughts...
Here are some fun things that I like to use and recommend for others...

Volcano Candles ~ because they smell happy & I bought two for myself this season because I love the scent... they have a new pine smell too! It's nice!

Just Nutritive Normal Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Cream ~ because what you put on your scalp and on your skin absorbs into your body and effects your cells (mixing essential oils into the body cream is very easy and works great).

Injinji Toe Socks ~ a physical therapist suggested these years ago and once I got used to them I never went back, it's like having a glove on your foot instead of a mitten!

Norwex Hand Towels ~ my sister got me hooked on these and now I use them as hand towels, bath towels, sponges, and my hair towel... they absorb very quickly and kill bacteria! No more clorox (the smell is horrible and my hands would be red after using clorox wipes, some kind of allergy to their chemicals)!! I also use the detergent and dish soap. Love them!

Fuzzy Socks ~ who doesn't love coming home and putting on fuzzy socks? Instant happiness!

Sorel Glacy boots ~ these are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned! Move over Uggs. These boots won't make your feet sweat, especially with toe socks, but they're super comfy and have a tennis shoe sole.

POSTSEASON BASEBALL: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers ~ Baseball Etiquette ~ Dallas Cowboys Over-reaction Tuesday

GO RANGERS !!! ALDS PLAYOFFS - THIS THURSDAY It's official... we are playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.  Dang it.  I can't stand the Blue Jays. They have trashy fans. No, literally, they throw trash on the field .  And Jose Bautista is a punk. No one needs your bat flippin' drama!  And we all remember this... Odor punching Bautista earlier this year. Watch . All the sports people are going to have a field day over this. I bet they wish they had given us the evening time slots now! Except that Toronto's TV ratings don't count, eh?  How we win... stay focused. Eliminate the drama. We beat them during the regular season. We can do it again. No hitting batters, no one getting ejected. We need our entire roster in the ALCS. We need to play Texas Ranger baseball. Period. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Games 1 and 2 are this Thursday at 3:30 PM and Friday at Noon in Arlington, TX. Games 3 and 4 are Sunday and Monday in Toronto. ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Week 2: New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ UNT beat Arkansas ~ Scooter Magruder

GO Cowboys!!! 0-1 (wins ~ losses) New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ( away team ~ home team ) Sunday, September 16 @ 7:20 PM CST on NBC If you watched the game last week, where we lost to the Carolina Panthers, you have most likely decided to stop watching the rest of the season. It was a rough game. And it makes a lot of people think that first string players should get more reps during pre-season games so your Week 1 game isn't a scrimmage. So, during the " scrimmage ," that was a regular season game, Dak matched Cam Newton ( Carolina's QB ) in passing yards and was pretty close in accuracy. So where did Carolina win? Aside from wearing out our Defense... Newton had 13 carries for 58 rushing yards, allowing him to score one of their two TD's ( touchdowns ). Zeke ( our RB, running back ) had 15 carries for 69 rushing yards and one TD. Carolina out played us in the run game because they're not afraid to allow their QB to run. They converted more 1st ...
