GO RANGERS!!! 58-60
11th in the AL (American League)
11th in the AL (American League)
4th in the AL West (15 games behind the Houston Astros)
The Wild Card.
This is our only hope at making it into the Postseason.
We love the Postseason.
It's why you play any sport, to make it to the playoffs, and win it all!
The magic number is 3. We are 3 games away from making it into the Wild Card spot.
We need the following teams to LOSE and we need to WIN.
New York Yankees
Los Angeles Angels
Minnesota Twins
Kansas City Royals
Baltimore Orioles
Seattle Mariners
Tampa Bay Rays
Here's the full picture...
How will we win and beat all of these other teams?
We traded Yu Darvish, our "star" pitcher. But we still have Cole Hamels with a 3.31 ERA. Yu made a nice gesture to all Texas Rangers fans by posting this full page Thank You in the Dallas Morning News. My best friend and I were at his first start, April 9th, 2012. It was a wild game, but we ultimately got the W. Thank Yu for everything!! I'm sure you'll enjoy winning a World Series ring with the Dodgers, while we battle our way into the Postseason. #NeverEverQuit
The rest of our bullpen is slowly improving. Matt Bush is finally back, (he didn't leave physically, just didn't have command for a while) and has pitched like a (relief) Ace! 2.28 ERA, 10 Saves, and 51 strikeouts (K's).
Andrew Cashner has also been a great addition to our team! Homedude is from Conroe, TX and went to TCU! He has a 3.32 ERA, with 59 K's. I'll take it!
Trivia: Cashner has been in the league since 2010, playing for the Cubs, Padres and Marlins. Guess what cities those are in?? (answer below)
Here is our upcoming schedule. Go to a game with the family before school starts!!
I was fortunate enough to attend the game Saturday night where Pudge was inducted into the Hall of Fame in front of a home crowd! Here are a few photos from the night... it was a lot of fun, even with the rain!
We saw a few home runs, and one that was particularly cool from Brett Nicholas. Dude has been in the minors since 2010. He played a few games for us last year and was sent back down to AAA. They brought him back up to the majors on 7/26. He hit is FIRST major league home run on Saturday night, 8/12. So cool! Congrats Brett!
Trivia Answer: Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, Miami Marlins

GO COWBOYS!!!
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL????
Man, I am! Watched the pre-season game while at the Rangers game Saturday... the countdown begins!
I'm so ready for Fall to come breezing through my window... sitting on my couch, eating gluten free french toast, with bacon (of course), and a throw blanket... snuggled up as I watch College Game Day, or NFL Countdown (C'Mon Man). The leaves begin to fall, and the greatest season of the year approaches...
I've always thought it's football I like so much, but maybe football lucked out because it's played during my favorite season? I guess that is why Fall-ball is the best too! Oh to watch baseball in October... warms my heart! Looks like the only baseball I'll be watching in October this year is my nephews, and that's quite alright with me! The kid is amazing! And I'd choose him over pro-sports any day!
I interrupt this Fall-fest to bring you news on the Dallas Cowboys...
If you're going on a date to a Cowboys pre-season game, here are the things to know...
1. A lot of guys are suspended. Like, a lot... Irving (4 games), Moore (2 games), Gregory (entire season). The main one you need to know is Ezekiel Elliott (e-zeek-e-ill), aka Zeke. Here is the rundown on what he's been charged with... check it out. Zeke is our starting Running Back. The guy was a rookie last year and rushed for 1,361 yards and had 15 touchdowns. Not easy stats to replace with a backup RB, but we'll try. The guys that you'll see in a pre-game and regular season games, pending Elliott's appeal, are Darren McFadden, Alfred Morris, and Ronnie Hillman (in order of starting caliber, determined by me).
2. Injuries. Not only is half of our Defense out with suspensions, but injuries are playing a role too. Tyrone Crawford has an ankle sprain, but should be ready by Week 1. Whew... that could have been bad.
3. Rico and Taco are two guys you'll see playing in most pre-season games, and possibly a few regular season games, given the chance. Rico is a Wide Receiver (WR), who had an amazing catch in Saturday night's game vs. the Rams. He suffered a concussion this week in practice, not cool. As much as I love football, I hate this part of the game. I hope he is okay and takes the time needed to heal. Now Taco, dude is a Defensive End (DE) and got his first NFL sack Saturday night. He already signed a 4 year deal with Dallas, so I guess this is the first of what we should see during the regular season.
4. Jaylon Smith. My phone blew up a few minutes ago with tweets and ESPN notifications about how Jerry Jones said Jaylon Smith will play this Saturday night vs. the Indianapolis Colts. Do you know who Jaylon Smith is?? He has quite a cool story, and seems like a super nice and positive guy. He was injured during the Fiesta Bowl two years ago. A knee injury that damaged a lot of nerves in his body. He has been patiently waiting for the feeling to come back. The Cowboys doctors performed his surgeries and have been working with him ever since. He fell in the daft, due to his injury, and the Cowboys picked him up in the 2nd round, 34th pick. He would have gone in the Top 5 if he hadn't been injured.
Fun Fact... Jaylon's brother, Rod Smith, is also on the Cowboys.

I just wanted to remind all of us that one of the greatest commandments is to LOVE. God first, but along with God, his creation, mankind.
It's not a cute quote from 1 Corinthians 13, but it is a command.
To love someone is a choice. To believe that you are loved is also a choice. No matter what you choose to believe, it does not negate the fact that you are loved, especially by God. But it does show that you have the ability to accept it or reject it. The same in all of our relationships.
You aren't "in love" with your spouse forever. You are "choosing to love them" every day of your life, until death do us part, and probably thereafter.
Every choice you make, every phone call, every meal, every load of laundry is an act of love. You are caring for, concerning yourself with, and tending to the needs of those in your life that you LOVE. It is not conditional or self seeking; it keeps no record of wrong.
The part where love really sinks in, is when you realize you are to love your neighbor as yourself. There's nothing that says you should love them if they're exactly like you. Or that you should love them if they like you. It's when they aren't either of those things and you see them for exactly who they are... a child of God, just like you. End of Story.
There are wicked people in this world, and it is sick and disturbing. They all need to be held accountable for their actions.
As for the rest of us, we have to impact the world around us. One person at a time. One phone call at a time. One bouquet of flowers at a time. Or one hand written note at a time. One dinner cooked for a stranger at a time. Live life open-handed. It's the best way to experience life here on earth!!
For all of you folks that are single and those that are married... I just want to give you a free piece of advice...
If being single was so great... single people wouldn't want to be married.
If being married was so great... married people wouldn't want to be single.
And people who constantly go between the two, sadly haven't experienced the depth of love that is available to the person who says "I'm in" - to the very end! Wow! That's crazy love!! To stick with someone, even when the "mushy feelings" and "attraction" are gone. Agape. Look it up. It's what everyone is truly searching for.
So husbands, stay with the one you're with! She's worth it!! She's the best one for you!! Wives, stay with the one you're with! He's worth it!! He's the best one for you!!
And I say this while praying none of you are being physically abused or harmed in your relationship, if so, contact Genesis Women's Shelter NOW and they will help you! Seriously!
"If anyone says "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen."
