MEMORIAL DAY
Before we get to sports, please choose to stop and remember and honor all of those who have served our country and are currently serving our country.
There are many great organizations that are doing remarkable things to honor these men, women and their families.
If you are able to join with Carry the Load, they are giving all of us an opportunity to walk with them and help them carry on the memory of those we all have loved, and most often lost. If you can't walk, you can always donate to the work they are doing.
Please watch this 2 minute video about the gentleman who started Carry the Load, Clint Bruce. He has a simple message with a powerful reminder that we should all be carrying the memory of our soldiers, known and unknown.
My Uncle, that served in the U.S. Air Force, and my grandfather's are no longer with us. None of them died in battle, but it is still hard that they are gone. They all gave up a piece of themselves to sacrifice and serve all of us. For our safety and protection, they suited up, and faced the enemy. I love them, I miss them, and I know I will see them all again!
I am thankful for their service, for the sacrifices my parents families made and my Uncle's family made. It takes a toll on everyone, and it feels like there is no real way to fully repay all who have experienced military life.
I can only say Thank You! I am proud of you and know that I am not worthy of the risks you take daily. I thank God for you, pray for you, support you, and will serve you the best I can at Home.
You are Heroes.
GO RANGERS!!! 25-26
GO MAVS!!!
The Mavs aren't in the NBA Championship game. I'm sure you are aware of that by now.
There are two teams in the Finals that you've probably heard of... the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavilers. And who cares???
This NBA season was so boring to me. Now I'll openly admit that football and baseball are my #1 and #2 sports. When they overlap I have to flip a coin for this is more important. But, I do like watching basketball, except when it's so predictable.
All season long we knew it was going to be this ending. The only thing that would have changed it would have been major injuries.
I found one person who agrees with me... Sir Charles Barkley. Ha! Read his lovely comments on how Dirk's championship in Dallas means more than these "superteams."
Here's the schedule for the NBA Finals, if you're a Cavs or Warriors fan.

9th in the AL (American League)
3rd in the AL West (10 games behind the Houston Astros)
You win some, you lose some... it's why they play 162 games.
We won 10 game straight vs. the San Diego Padres, Oakland A's, Philadelphia Phillies, and Detroit Tigers. The only Pitcher that had our number during those 12 games was Justin Verlander. His ERA is 4.87, but for some reason, we couldn't hit him in the 11th game of our 10 game win streak.
Then we went to Boston and got our butts kicked. We put up a few runs against the Red Sox, but it wasn't good enough. Our pitchers couldn't get it done either. Cashner, Dyson and Martinez all recorded their first loss of the season in Boston.
Toronto. The place where it all began. We do not have the best history with Toronto, mostly due to Jose Bautista and his flagrant celebrations when he has a good hit or does anything he thinks is "special." It's baseball, everyone is bound to have a great home run. Odor went Nolan Ryan on him last year... watch the full replay here. This year he decided to do the same charade with the Atlanta Braves. Eric O'Flaherty, the Braves pitcher that got the "bat-flip and stare down" from Bautista this year had a few comments to say about how he should have learned his lesson with the Rangers. Read it here.
We won one game in Toronto and the Rangers are headed back to Arlington for their 3 game stint vs. the Tampa Bay Rays. We are .5 games behind the Rays in the AL. We need this series to move up in the rankings.
GUESS WHO IS BACK????
Beltre! He should be in the lineup for Monday night, Memorial Day. I'm the lucky fan who will be there to see him!! He has been in rehab for a calf injury. It looks like he's coming back at just the right time. We win big and we lose big. Maybe Adrian can help even out this Rangers team that has a lot of talent, but can't seem to win on the road.
Joey Gallo vs. Juan Gonzalez
I am NOT saying that Gallo is as good as Gonzalez. Gonzalez was an amazing player who helped the Rangers be as good as we were in the 90's and early 2000's. But, could Joey Gallo ever become the new Juan Gonzalez for the Texas Rangers?
Juan Gone (as he was nicknamed for his home run hitting ability) played 13 years with the Rangers totaling these stats: .293 batting average (BA), 372 home runs (HR), 1076 strikeouts (SO) and 1180 runs batted in (RBI). He struck out in 20% of his at bats and hit a home run in 7% of his at bats.
As of today, Joey Gallo has these stats in his 3 years with the Rangers (he has not played 3 full years, he has been playing in place of Beltre, we will see if he is moved to the outfield when he gets back). .185 BA, 21 HR, 144 SO, 46 RBI. He has struck out in 49% of his at bats and hit a home run in 7% of his at bats.
He clearly needs to get his strikeouts under control and focus on getting base hits if he's not going to drive a 460 foot home run!
Gonzalez is a great player to strive to beat for Gallo or any player. Sad thing is, Josh Hamilton could have easily broken this club record, if only he had been healthy enough. Still love the guy. Praying for you Josh!
