Week 17: Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles ~ Mavs ~ College Bowl Games ~ Happy New Year

GO COWBOYS!!! 13-2 Tied for 1st in the NFL  with the NE Patriots  (league) 1st in the NFC  (conference) 1st in the NFC EAST  (division) Sunday, January 1st Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles 12:00 Noon CST on FOX This is the last week of the Regular Season, and the Cowboys are looking to win their 14th game! I'm still in disbelief! Not that a regular season record means that much, the New England Patriots were undefeated in 2008, 16-0, and lost the Super Bowl to the New York Giants . Those darn Giants; they keep coming out of nowhere.  Speaking of the Giants, since the Cowboys lost to the Giants in Week 14, Dak Prescott  has completed 47 of 56 pass attempts, for 491 yards, 3 TD's ( touchdowns ) and ZERO interceptions. Nice comeback kid!  If the Cowboys win on Sunday, and Prescott plays a few downs, he will set a Rookie record winning his 14th game of the season.  The Game Sunday...  This ga...

Week 16: Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ Salvation Army ~ Merry Christmas

GO COWBOYS!!! 12-2 Tied for 1st in the NFL  with the NE Patriots  (league) 1st in the NFC  (conference) 1st in the NFC EAST  (division) Monday, December 26th Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys 7:30 PM CST on ESPN Redemption.  After all of the talk about how Dak Prescott was on a decline since he couldn't beat the New York Giants, again... he silenced his critics.  On Sunday night football, vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dak Prescott threw for 279 yards. He completed 32 of 36 passes and one TD ( TD = touchdown ). That is a completion rating of 88.9. That is a Dallas Cowboys record for a single game in the history of our team. And second best for any QB in the NFL with more than 30 passes.  Here is a quick take from Troy Aikman on Dak Prescott .  Dez Bryant finally played a bigger role in the game vs. TB. Maybe the coverage wasn't as good as the Giants, so it allowed him to actually cat...

Week 15: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ MAVS ~ Hallmark Channel

GO COWBOYS!!! 11-2 Tied for 1st in the NFL  with the NE Patriots  (league) 1st in the NFC  (conference) 1st in the NFC EAST  (division) Sunday, December 18 Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys 7:30 PM CST on  NBC Well, last week was disappointing to say the least.  We played 3 games in 12 days, managed to beat all of those great defenses: Ravens, Redskins and Vikings... then we have 10 days to recover... all to lose, AGAIN, to the New York Giants.  Y'all are lucky I didn't write this the next day. I was not a happy camper.  There were a lot of things that went wrong. And one thing that went right was the New York Giants Defense. They had 2 interceptions, 76 tackles, 9 hits on Dak Prescott ( our QB ) and 3 sacks. Talk about frustrating.  And I'm not an expert in play calling. Never been a Football player, offensive coordinator, coach or anything other than a flag football participant in high schoo...

Week 14: Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants ~ MAVS ~ Greenberg Turkey

GO COWBOYS!!! 11-1 1st in the NFL (league) 1st in the NFC (conference) 1st in the NFC EAST (division) Sunday, December 11 7:30 PM CST on  NBC The Cowboys pulled out a nice win over the Minnesota Vikings last week on Thursday night. 17-15, on the road. We are UNDEFEATED on the road.  If you thought they looked horrible, they were tired. 3 games in 12 days.  I'm not making the " they're a professional athlete, the need to suck it up " excuse - because they do get pretty banged up in these games. Recovery for anyone is real. Especially these guys in their 30's. FUN FACTS:   ~ The Cowboys are the ONLY team in the NFL with an 11 game win streak. The two teams that have 4 game win streaks are the Detroit Lions and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  ~ The Cowboys are one of two teams who are undefeated on the road. Can you guess the other team? ( hint: their QB missed the first 4 games of the season ) ~ The only loss we have thi...
