Week 17: Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ Dallas Mavericks ~ Dallas Stars ~ Life's Questions

Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys (home team is second)

It's basically the end of the season. 

 The only thing the Cowboys can do on Sunday is discourage the Washington Redskins with a loss... before they head into the Playoffs. 

 Many frustrations came out of this years season... 

Tony Romo and Dez getting injured in Week 2. 

 Distractions from Greg Hardy and his troubled past. 

 DeMarco Murray going to the Eagles and us using 7 different Running Backs to replace him. 

 Injuries to our secondary and Defensive Lineman. 

 6 straight losses at HOME!

 Offensive play calling... 

 The list goes on. 

 At the end of the day. I'm still a Cowboys fan. Not because of Jerry Jones. Not because of Jason Garrett or Tony Romo. But because they're my team.

So, enjoy the off-season fellas... heal up, rest up, and gear up for 2016!! 

Bottom Line... Kellen Moore is still the starting QB for the Cowboys this Sunday. However, their goal in the Draft is to get a QB that will be Romo's replacement (when he retires). We clearly need a running back as well! And so many other things... mainly on Defense.  

Injuries... Everyone. Dez is having another surgery on his foot. Not a surprise. He probably rushed coming back, which we didn't really need him to. Romo doesn't need an additional surgery, which is good news! Hopefully he will heal fully in the coming months!

GO MAVS!!! 19-14

The Mavs broke a 4 game win streak Friday night when they lost to the Miami Heat. Our coach, Rick Carlisle, is quite frustrated with our offense. We either come out of the gate shooting or we are lame ducks. 

 Good thing is... each night, it seems like a different guy steps up. J.J. Barea has lead the team in scoring 3 out of the last 5 games! His highest was 32 points vs. the Brooklyn Nets and 26 vs. the Chicago Bulls. He even had 23 points vs. the Golden State Warriors! Keep doing what you're doing J.J.! We need you!!

GO STARS!!! 28-8-3

So, I will not pretent to be the biggest Stars fan... but I can't deny that they are amazing this year!! They are 1st in the Western Conference and one Win behind Montreal to be first in the entire NHL. 

 Even watching Sports Center every morning... I see Barry Melrose talking about the Dallas Stars being the best team in the NHL!! I'm not gonna lie, it's kind of fun! 

 I even got to attend a game this year and it's way more fun in person than on TV. Which is how I feel about baseball! (Football is the only sport most people like on TV better because of the multiple angles). 

 If you get a chance to go to a game with the family... do it! This may be 1999 all over again! #theeagle

It's the New Year. 

 Resolutions. Goals. Finance Budgets. Social expectations. The list goes on. 

 Well, I was fortunate enough to spend time with friends of mine on January 1st. One of my friends made dinner for a group of her closest girl friends. She served us, and wouldn't let us help with a thing. Made everything from scratch and then had a list of questions for us to talk through and reflect on for 2015 into 2016. 

 It was so encouraging and yet some of the questions were hard to answer. But, I believe God is in everything. The good days, the bad, the days you don't understand anything at all and the days where you feel like you are nailing it. 

 "It's okay to not be okay, just don't stay there." ~ Matt Chandler

 So... here are a few of the questions she listed... maybe it would be helpful for you in your life to ponder these and see how life could look differently.

If last year could be summed up in one word, what would it be? 

What were some major life lessons you learned this year? 

What do you want to ask for and pray actively for in 2016?

Who is the person you want to most encourage this year? 

What single thing that you plan to do this year will matter the most in 10 years? Eternity? 

In what area of your life do you need the most growth, and what will you do about it this year? 

If those who know you best are to give you one piece of advice, what would they say? Would they be right? What will you do about it?

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. The Masters, in all its beauty ~ Texas Rangers ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Get Outside

The Masters The ultimate Bucket List item and one of the ones that exceeded my expectations. If you play golf, have a family member who makes you watch golf or take naps to golf, you understand that The Masters is the holy grail of golf tournaments. It is the only PGA tournament that is played in the same location every year, Augusta, Georgia.  Thanks to very dear friends of mine, I had the chance to walk through the azaleas, experience the serenity of Amen Corner and watch the players skip golf balls across the water at Hole 16. If they allowed people to sleep on the grass, I would have stayed forever.  We were there for two days of practice rounds, which is fun because the players are relaxed and cut up with one another. They cancelled the Par 3 Contest, which was sad, but just being there was the most wonderful feeling ever. You can't take phones in, so I even called my parents from the phones at Augusta, just to do so. We also didn't realize you could bring in a real camer...

Week 13: Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings ~ NFC East ~ NFL logo quiz

GO COWBOYS!!! 10-1 1st in the NFL 1st in the NFC EAST Thursday, December 1st 7:25 PM CST on NBC We've NEVER won 10 consecutive games. Ever.  We lost our first game of the season to the New York Giants, by one point. And oddly enough, they are still the ghost we're trying to run away from and secure our playoff spot with only 5 Regular Season games left.  Here is what the NFC East looks like going into Week 13...  The Minnesota Vikings... what should we fear?  The Vikings are in the NFC North Division. They currently trail the Detroit Lions for a spot in the playoffs. They have only won 1 of their last 5 games, which makes this Thursday night, showtime game, a must win for the Vikings!  4-1 at home, The Vikings meet the Cowboys who are 5-0 on the road.
