GO RANGERS!!! 67-61
2nd in AL West - .523, 4 games behind Houston Astros, 12.5 games behind the Kansas City Royals in 1st Place in the American League
Our Home Record is 31-32
Our Road Record is 36-29
One stat that stands out to me is... we've scored 569 runs this season and allowed 594 runs, -25 difference. Every other team ahead of the Rangers has significantly more runs scored vs. runs allowed. Yankees +63, Royals +86, Astros +98, Blue Jays +186.
In order to make it to the Playoffs, much less win in the Playoffs, we have to start taking the lead and holding onto it!
Pitching...
A friend of mine pointed out to me that every start Colby Lewis has had this season, he allows at least 6 runs, but the Rangers always find a way to get him the W. Interesting. He has the most wins, 14, and the most strikeouts, 117. However, the remaining stats aren't as warm and fuzzy...
164 Innings Pitched, 164 hits allowed, 80 earned runs, 23 Home Runs (hit off of him), and a 4.38 ERA.
Comparison... Yovani Gallardo...
154 Innings Pitched, 150 hits allowed, 54 earned runs, 11 Home Runs, and a 3.14 ERA.
These are our two GO TO pitchers right now. Cole Hamels had a great start Friday night and is working his way nicely into the rotation.
Derek Holland is back and I'll get to see him play Sunday against the Orioles. He has pitched 13 Innings this year and has a 4.73 ERA. I say he drops to a 4.12 ERA by the end of Sunday's game.
Hitting...
Adrian Beltre!!! With Nelson Cruz gone... we lost a little bit of power, but Beltre has risen to the occasion!! He hit his 13th Home Run Saturday night, when we needed it the most!!! Hitting in 2 runs, and boosting his RBI total to 44 for the season.
Now if we can get all of the guys hitting at the same time... we'll all feel more comfortable going into the Playoffs!!
Elvis continues getting on base, DeShields is only batting .265, but it feels like he's hitting better than that, Napoli is back at .308 and Prince Fielder is rocking at .315!!!
Yes, I have high hopes. We can do this!!!

GO COWBOYS!!!
The Countdown begins...
The first NFL game of the regular season is on Thursday night, September 10th, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New England Patriots.
Sad thing is, Tom Brady may not be playing. The final hearing of the Brady vs. NFL case is Monday morning. TBD on if he plays or not, but I still recommend drafting him in your fantasy league if you can in late rounds.
Pro for the Cowboys... Romo looked better than Brady in Saturday's pre-season games!!! He is healthy and had more mobility than the past 3 seasons, at least that is how it looked!
We've lost all of our pre-season games... but that doesn't matter.
Winners in Saturday's Game...
McFadden... I'm still not a fan of getting rid of Murray and picking up random RB's... but McFadden had 37 rushing yards on 4 catches tonight. Much better than last week. If he's available in the 4th round or 5th in your fantasy league, draft him. There aren't that many starting RB's this year. Kind of sad. But next year... I want Ezekiel Elliott from Ohio State!!
Terrance Williams... He had one reception for 60 yards and a Touchdown. But, he said, He and Romo had a connection. Williams was used last year when Dez Bryant and Jason Witten were double teamed. Which happens a lot. This is an opportunity for Terrance to step up!! When he's not in the mix, you'll still see Cole Beasley and maybe Lucky Whitehead?
Defense... I believe that Byron Jones will make his mark this season... but Brandon Carr got the W tonight! Three big plays and one for the take-away! Interception!! We need to be disruptive on Defense!! If Sean Lee and Barry Church can stay healthy... we have a shot!
Cowboys first Regular Season Game...
Sunday, September 13th
New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys
7:30 PM CST
If you don't say "I love you" often to people that you love, you should.
Many people "assume" that people know they love them, but love is an action and people need to be reminded of it in various ways.
You'd be surprised as to how many people recall how often their parent, sibling, spouse or friend says those three words. Not "love you" or "love ya" - but I Love You. Intentionally.
When people get married. They are choosing to love each other. All in. When they like each other and when they don't - they choose to actively love one another with their actions, words and in their heart. It is something that grows over time and will be rooted deeply in you.
If you've ever lost someone that you love. Know that however deep the root was, the scar may be that deep too, but at least you know you cared. I'd rather be all scared up and care than empty and free from emotion or pain.
So, hug someone. Go tell the people in your life that you love them, especially family. Your parents did the best they knew how in raising you. Either lower your expectations or just let it go. Nothing is worth holding on to for long, except love.
