GO RANGERS!!! 15-20
ADRIAN (Beltre)... dude just went yard against the Indians... right after Prince Fielder. 5 HR's this year for both of them. (Nelson Cruz has 15, but who's counting)
Fielder, in our DH role (Designated Hitter, means he doesn't play in the field, he ONLY bats - Mitch Moreland is a better First Baseman), is batting .348. Moreland is trailing him with .304. The rest of our guys are below .300.
This is where Josh Hamilton comes into play. I know it's frustrating to watch him swing so casually and miss... but when he swings and hits it... wow... the best sound you've ever heard! He's in AAA right now in Round Rock... hoping he gets his bat speed up and is ready to go at the end of May!
RBI... Runs Batted In (points on the board)... Fielder with 20, Choo with 16, Beltre and Chirinos with 12. We definitely don't have clean-up guys like we used to, or as many fast guys who would put themselves in scoring position with smart base running; but they're doing the best they can.
We are in a 3 game stretch agains the Cleveland Indians. They are the worst in Major League Baseball right now, so we have a chance to maximize on this match up!
Also there is talk of Adrian Beltre getting into the Hall of Fame... hopefully that will be as a Ranger! He just broke into the 400 club, with 400 career home runs! 52nd player to achieve this accomplishment... Sharing the honor with these fellas. Most of you old school Rangers fans will remember this guy... Juan Gone.

GO COWBOYS!!!
Did you see the Draft?? I'm sure about 5% of you watched it. And you only watched the first round. That's okay... that's what the ESPN app is for. Or CBS Sports app. Or Bleacher Report app. They're all good.
Here is the link to all of our 2015 Draft Picks.
5 out of our 8 Draft Picks were Defensive Players!!! Good! We needed Chaz Green and Laurence Gibson to round out our solid O-line (and help if Doug Free retires), but we really needed Defensive players!
Byron Jones... this kid... if you watched the NFL Combine, or saw any highlights... you saw Byron Jones! Watch these two videos and be amazed!! This kid is so talented, I don't care the he played for UConn and didn't go up against SEC teams! He is an athlete and I'm glad the Cowboys picked him up!
You can tell Stephen seems to have more say in the Draft the past couple of years. We've banked on a few of our first round picks, which wasn't always the case.
The other main story from draft week came from a free agent... a player who didn't get drafted... La'el Collins. An Offensive Tackle from LSU. This kid seems to have had a bad break with the murder of an ex-girlfriend, who brought about questioning from authorities, in which they chose to question him the night before the NFL Draft. Horrible timing for this young man, but hopefully these next 3 years with the Cowboys is exactly where he's supposed to be! He chose us and we welcome him! Here's his emotional press conference - worth watching.
Football epiphany...
I heard Maria Shriver speak at a conference this past week for Genesis Women's Shelter in Dallas. She randomly told a story about forgivingness. For some reason, she hated Dallas when she was a kid and it stayed with her far into her adult years. She never mentioned why, but said she realized one day, she needed to let it go. Since then, she loves coming to Dallas and feels silly for holding that against our city and our people.
So, even before this luncheon, I had contemplated my disdain for the Philadelphia Eagles and Philly. Yes, I associate it with football mainly, but may have said harsh things in general about Philadelphians. My only time in Philly was a 30 minute pit stop on my road trip back to Dallas from NYC with my sister. We stopped to eat a REAL Philly Cheesesteak and paid $9 for 30 minutes of parking. (I was broke at the time and $9 to park for 30 minutes should be illegal).
It really relates back to Michael Irvin being cheered off the field on a stretcher. As a kid, watching that on TV, it made such an impact on me. But, Michael Irvin is fine now, and I can't place blame on every Eagles fan for that day. Some still relish in it; I ran into those fellas at the NFL Draft in 2006, but not all of them do. I have a few good friends who are from Philly and we have a great time talking life and sports!
So, if I make a trip the the Northeast and Philly is on the list, I will go. Not sure I can make it to an Eagles game and will never cheer for them (they're a Division rival), but I don't hate them. They're people, fans, and families, just like us in Dallas and all over this great country!
GO COWBOYS!!

Is this Whole 30 approved??
Do you eat Paleo?
Is this Gluten Free??
AAaahhhhhhh... so here's the deal. I just want to eat healthy enough to where I feel like I'm feeding my body rich nutrients and making the best decision possible for that meal.
Ideal situation these days... own a farm and grow your own food. Oh how we've come full circle. There's just a farm app for your iPhone now.
Anyway...
I love oatmeal (rolled or steel cut, not instant)l! It's not Whole 30 approved. But, I tried the Whole 30 anyway. After the first 16 days, I snuck oatmeal in twice, but did everything else legit... I realized a few things...
1. I don't need as much cheese in my diet as I like and/or dream about.
2. I learned that I like most vegetables baked. I've never liked vegetables because they tend to be soggy when cooked. Baking them makes them all as close to a tortilla chip as possible... and I can devour some tortilla chips. The trick is - cut up your sweet potatoes, carrots, brussels sprouts, etc up at the beginning of the week (cut them skinny so they bake well), then cook throughout the week as you need them. Here are good recipes for veggies.
3. I don't like eating meat for EVERY meal. Good things I like eggs.
4. Peanuts aren't a nut, they're a legume. What??? No, seriously. Crazy, right? It's like finding out Peter in the Bible had a wife! Who knew?!?! Read this peanut butter info. If you're like me and still want something similar to eat on your apple, try this Almond Butter from Trader Joe's! Or make your own Almond Butter!!
5. Cholula was still allowed. It's the only reason I made it this far. Cholula on eggs; Cholula on brussels sprouts with olive oil, crushed red pepper and bake them; Cholula on an avocado straight up. Life changing.
6. I've embraced La Croix! Buying the Grapefruit ones and spiking them with Pure Lemon Juice is the best!! Tastes like a cocktail, I think!
I do feel good, cutting out random sugars and unnecessary food that I was just in a habit of eating. So, there has to be a balance in all of this and it will look different for each person!
Best of luck finding your way in this Organic, FDA Approved, growing my own herbs society!!
