GO MAVS!!! 0-1 PLAYOFFS
Chandler Parsons is out with a knee injury (that he's battled all season). Devin Harris is out with a toe injury.
The Houston Rockets aren't too big of a threat, but they have this one dude... that they bought from the Oklahoma City Thunder... James Harden. He averaged 27.4 points per game in the regular season and had 24 points against Dallas in the first game of the playoffs. We can double team him all day... but what we need to do is get rebounds... and capitalize on them!! Dudes shooting threes and driving it to the rim! Would Amar'e Stoudemire please stand up.
The Rockets also have a guy on their team, Jason Terry. Sound familiar?? He was a Mav... Jason "The Jet" Terry! Helped us win our Championship title in 2011! He's still good... and is a secondary threat to Harden and Dwight Howard (big dude but will foul out).
GO RANGERS!!! 5-8
Y'all... what is happening. We are 3rd in the AL West.
I attended a game the other day with my work crew. It was a lovely day. Sunny and 75. Nice break from the crazy rain and Spring weather in Texas.
Anthony Ranaudo was the starting pitcher. What? You don't know who he is? I didn't either before I researched him. He was acquired by the Rangers in the trade of Robbie Ross. We gave up a left-handed pitcher in Ross, for another right-handed pitcher in Ranaudo. They both have about the same ERA... so why the trade? Why not?
That's kind of how it feels being a fan, watching the clubhouse make random decisions.
And how painful is it to see Nelson Cruz get up to bat for the Seattle Mariners?? There's isn't a salary cap in baseball. Even if JD didn't think Nelly is good enough to play right field... keep him as your DH and don't sign Prince Fielder. We play better with Moreland at First Base anyway!
Ugh...
The woes of watching Nolan Ryan leave and everything crumble. I'm not sure if our pitching will ever be the same. He came to every home game and watched the pitchers. Most people probably thought he was there for posterity... but he was there to scout his own pitchers and pitchers on opposing teams. He knows baseball. It's not just stats and numbers to him. It's ingrained in him!! Gosh I miss having him as a part of the Rangers...
Another random topic that has come up in the Dallas area... on sports radio... is the notion to bring Josh Hamilton back to TX! He seems to be going through a lot personally... and we know the break-up between Hamilton, the Rangers and fans could be been smoother. But, I actually think I'm for it! Proving he's healthy enough to play. I don't see why we can try him again! What do we have to lose at this point? Our roster is full of guys who are being brought up from AAA daily. Let's see if "The Natural" could find his groove again in his home state?? Plus, the Angels would pay us to take him... just like Detroit did for Fielder. (And like we did to the Yankees for A-Rod. Oh the mistakes we've made.)
Remember... there isn't a salary cap in Baseball. So, we could have paid Nelly! And Hamilton, when the Angels made their original offer. And a lot of other players!! So, when the Rangers Management stops trying to play Moneyball... we'll all be here waiting! Because that's what fans do.
GO COWBOYS!!!
Games to note...
Our season opener is on Sunday, September 13, vs. the NY Giants in Dallas. Sunday Night Football. Will be interesting to see what Running Back we'll have for that high profile game.
And... The New England Patriots are coming to Dallas on October 11th!! For all you Brady fans, get your tickets now!! (this would include my oldest sister)
It will be interesting to see what happens with the QB situation in Philly. Our beloved rivals. I still think Tebow would be a good fit behind Romo! Just my opinion. If we have a run game like we did last year, there's more room for our QB's to throw, hand-off or run it! I just like the game to be exciting!!
We are coming up on the NFL Draft... Thursday, April 30 - Saturday, May 2. It is in Chicago this year!! There's a show on ESPN that is called 2015 Draft Academy, in case you're a nerd and want to watch this.
**The NFL Draft should be on everyone's bucket list, as the Masters is still on mine**

The only one worth mentioning is... I almost burned down my apt. Everyone is safe, including my eyebrows.
If you're going to use a cast iron skillet on an electric stove, season it well and pour extra oil in before heating it. Enough said. YouTube makes it all look sooooo easy. Nope. But my sweet potato fries were spectacular!
I will be eating tuna out of a can and putting my steak making on hold.
(and that's why everyone should own a grill - including myself)
~smile~
