GO RANGERS!!!

Record... 17-15 (W-L)!!! The Rangers are 3rd in the AL (American League), behind the Oakland A's and the Detroit Tigers.

~ So, when we played Oakland in Oakland two weeks ago, we swept them (remember - a sweep - when a team wins the entire series of games in a row, typically 3 or 4 games are in a series). Then they came to Arlington and run-ruled us, and got their sweep! I'm not a fan of how poorly we pitch to the A's. It makes me nervous down the stretch, but it's early enough in the season that anything can happen! (Yu Darvish better work on studying the A's players - as of now, they own him.

~ The Rangers need to focus on scoring some runs! Our guys in the field have got to start helping our pitchers out. Not just defensively by catching the ball and making plays in the field, but scoring some runs to give our pitchers a cushion to get the W (Win).

~ If you take a look at our Batting Leaders... it's two dudes... Shin-Soo Choo and Alex Rios. (You should know most of these terms by now, OBP, may be one you don't know - On Base Percentage - means the dude hits and is "safe" on base - this can happen various ways, but you get the point). We need the Prince Fielder to get it going! Dude has a Batting Average of .231 and only has 2 Home Runs. Not sure about you, but when we traded for this guy in the off-season, all we heard about is how he's going to do amazingly in The Ballpark in Arlington since it's a hitters park. So Prince, where you at?
We lost tonight against the Colorado Rockies - and barely survived against the Angels, winning that series 2-3. Here is the upcoming schedule...
P.S. This Sunday is Mother's Day - if you haven't bought a gift for your mom yet - you should take her to the Red Sox game! Tickets are way over-priced by now, but it will be worth it! :)

GO COWBOYS!!!

~ The NFL DRAFT is this Thursday, May 8th! Make sure to tune in and DVR this grand event.

I must say, it is much more exciting in person! I had the pleasure of attending the NFL Draft at Radio City in '06, '07 and '08! My friends and I slept on the street in front of Radio City the first two years, then by the last year we became "Day 2 Diehards" - so we had our tickets mailed to us. Pretty sweet gig. So much fun and after seeing the DRAFT DAY movie - I've decided my new life's dream is to become the GM of a football team. (ha!

~ As for the Cowboys and their draft pics... we NEED Defensive players: Defensive Tackle (DT), Defensive End (DE), Cornerback (CB), and Safety (S). I assume, along with the rest of the world that we'll take Anthony Barr, Outside Linebacker from UCLA. Best part about this kid is that he used to play Running Back (on Offense), so he has more insight on how to shut down the run game. They are comparing him to DeMarcus Ware (whom I liked and the Cowboys traded to Denver at the end of last season... tears).

Random Info:
I mentioned before that this Sunday is Mother's Day. It is a nice day to honor all mother's, but that should be every day. Not just mom's, but dad's - siblings - friends!

And if you're holding on to things from the past - let them go - life is far too short to stay bound up and trapped! Choose to be free, you do realize for most of us, we choose to stay bitter and resentful! How can you live life to it's fullest if you are living it like that??

Call the people you love, tell them you love them, don't be afraid to say those words and cherish the moments you have together. Care for their hearts, sacrifice for them and do whatever it takes to let them know they are valued and you are proud of them. These are choices we make or don't make every day. Life's not about you.

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

The Masters, in all its beauty ~ Texas Rangers ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Get Outside

The Masters The ultimate Bucket List item and one of the ones that exceeded my expectations. If you play golf, have a family member who makes you watch golf or take naps to golf, you understand that The Masters is the holy grail of golf tournaments. It is the only PGA tournament that is played in the same location every year, Augusta, Georgia.  Thanks to very dear friends of mine, I had the chance to walk through the azaleas, experience the serenity of Amen Corner and watch the players skip golf balls across the water at Hole 16. If they allowed people to sleep on the grass, I would have stayed forever.  We were there for two days of practice rounds, which is fun because the players are relaxed and cut up with one another. They cancelled the Par 3 Contest, which was sad, but just being there was the most wonderful feeling ever. You can't take phones in, so I even called my parents from the phones at Augusta, just to do so. We also didn't realize you could bring in a real camer...

Week 13: Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings ~ NFC East ~ NFL logo quiz

GO COWBOYS!!! 10-1 1st in the NFL 1st in the NFC EAST Thursday, December 1st 7:25 PM CST on NBC We've NEVER won 10 consecutive games. Ever.  We lost our first game of the season to the New York Giants, by one point. And oddly enough, they are still the ghost we're trying to run away from and secure our playoff spot with only 5 Regular Season games left.  Here is what the NFC East looks like going into Week 13...  The Minnesota Vikings... what should we fear?  The Vikings are in the NFC North Division. They currently trail the Detroit Lions for a spot in the playoffs. They have only won 1 of their last 5 games, which makes this Thursday night, showtime game, a must win for the Vikings!  4-1 at home, The Vikings meet the Cowboys who are 5-0 on the road. Oh how I love those odds! Forever in our favor this season.  Quarterback situation. Sam Bradford is the starting QB for the Vikings. A guy they got in the o...
