Dallas Cowboys vs. LA Rams (home team is second)
Technically, the NFL started on Thursday night, however, I'm with @scootermagruder on this one... he said in a Tweet that "Football isn't back until the Cowboys play." I agree, my friend, I agree.
The Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs (reigning Super Bowl Champions) played Thursday night and the Champs won. They looked the same as last season and maybe even better. Not good for the rest of the AFC (American Football Conference), but totally fine for the Cowboys, who are in the NFC (National Football Conference). All that means is they don't play each other as often.
UNTIL THE SUPER BOWL.
I mean, with 2020 going the way it has, why not believe, as always, that the Cowboys will make it to the Super Bowl? Unless you're Stephen A. Smith, you can get on board with this!
What's new this season?
1) We have a new head coach, Mike McCarthy. He was the coach of the Green Bay Packers a couple of years ago. He "took a year off" and is now our head coach. I think this is good and it will at least give us all a new look at a playbook we haven't seen before.
2) Ceedee Lamb. The first Wide Receiver (WR) since Dez Bryant to wear #88. The only Cowboys players to wear this number are Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, Dez Bryant and now Ceedee Lamb. He was the 17th pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played his college career at the University of Oklahoma. The best part about his addition to our team is that he will open up the passing game for Dak in a way that we haven't had since Dez. This also frees up Zeke and gives our coaching staff more options, like The Option.
Dak Prescott
You may or may not have seen his comments surrounding the recovery process since the death of his brother. I am sure that if you or anyone you know has mourned the loss of a loved one, no matter how it happens, it can take a toll. I am glad he shared what he has been going through and I pray that he has been able to go through grief share or something that allows him to process the pain and be heard. This article about Dak has the links and numbers to suicide hotlines and help centers. I may not know you if you're reading this, but I can tell you this, YOU ARE WORTH IT! God loves you and made you with great purpose!

Y'all, I would have written sooner, but this season is not looking good. New stadium, no fans and a 15-28 record (W-L). Not good. I repeat, not good.

I would say go to a game, but you can't.
I would say watch online, but very few people watch regular season baseball on TV.
Soooooo keep your chin up and eventually we'll be able to watch baseball in person one day soon.
There have been a few highlights...
Eli White (rookie) got his first major league hit.
We won one game against the Astros and two against the Angels. Yay!
On a sad note, we've been swept by a few teams too...
Oakland A's
San Diego Padres
Seattle Mariners (both series)
We also traded LHP (left handed pitcher) Mike Minor to the Oakland A's. Boo, I liked that guy, but I guess JD and the front office aren't worried about winning this year, so they're just moving dollars around.
I guess we should start looking forward to the 2021 season!

NHL
Yes, I'm feeling fine and yes I'm adding a nod here to the Dallas Stars!! I am not a consistent hockey fan, but when your local team is in the playoffs, you support them!
Who is this rookie kid they picked up during a pandemic, Denis Gurianov?? Bold move and smart move! He had a four goal game in game 6 of the first round of playoffs and has had 8 total for the post-season.
Basically everyone on the team is fun to watch because they play very well together and hustle! We're up 2-1 in the Conference Finals vs. the Las Vegas Golden Knights (that's a mouth full).
Here's the full schedule. GO STARS!!!!

Did anyone else feel like the mafia when they watched the last few Mavs games?

You hurt Luka, I hurt you. (kidding/kind of) It was a bit ridiculous, but glad no one was seriously injured.
So yeah, that was short lived. It was a bummer to see Luka and Porzingis both get injured. I know Luka tried to play through it, but for the sake of his long term career, I just want his ankle to fully heal and be ready to go next season!

GOLF
Dustin Johnson (DJ) has raked in the dough this season. Three PGA tour wins and over $5M. Not too bad for a shortened season.
The only sad part about golf is the Ryder Cup was moved to 2021. Other than that, it's been nice to watch it on TV and see these guys play.
The U.S. Open is coming up on Sept 17-20 and The Masters will still be played at Augusta on November 12-15.

Random Info
Y'all... I'm not one to be pampered, so when I do something for myself, it's one of these crazy things. Also, I've had to overcome a few random injuries that led to this journey. Now I find some of these fun to do every few months or so.
The Float Spot in Frisco, TX. This may be my favorite thing ever. I was terrified the first time I went and it did not go well. Had I not slept like a baby that night, I don't think I would have gone back. However, I got over my fear of (nothing, these pods are very large and it was all in my head), and I went two more times. By the third time I actually fell asleep in this thing! That NEVER happens. It's worth the money, let me tell you! The best part may be the no phone, no noise, no nothing. Isolation sounds terrifying and it was. My mind races all of the time and this was a huge hurdle, but it is one of the best things I've ever done. I recommend everyone tries this two times; the first to get over your fear and the second to soak up the peace and quiet.
Restore Hyper Wellness in Plano, TX has cryo, hyperbaric (second pic) and inferred saunas. They also do IV drips and a few other things. I feel like they are very reasonably priced, it's very clean and everyone that works there is friendly.
Cryo feels great when you need to quickly reduce inflammation or you want to burn over 500 calories in 3 minutes. The first two minutes aren't a big deal, but that last minute - tell yourself you're on a beach and you'll be fine.
Hyperbaric is a great way to get 100% pure oxygen and relax in an semi-pressurized chamber. I'm not one for small spaces, but once you're in there, there's quite a bit or room. Once again, it's mostly mental, like the float pod thing. After this I am very relaxed and usually sleepy. The opposite of how I feel after cryo.
Joovv Red Light Therapy. Now this thing is pretty cool. I actually bought a first generation panel through a friend of a friend right before the lock-down. It was a great price, because the new ones are quite expensive. If you use it every day, I think it would be worth it. Click on the link to view all of the benefits. I try to use it at least 15 minutes a day. It has helped with minor aches and pains. I feel like it increases circulation and helps with detoxing from staring at a computer all day.
This is my last and most cost effective option to relax, restore muscles or reduce inflammation. These Magnesium flakes are amazing. I soak in them a couple of times a week in warm water. I add apple cider vinegar, essential oils and sometimes coconut oil. Yes, I dump it all in the water, it works and is worth it! You'll sleep better too!
