We started out so well, but no one believed it would last.
Winning 5 or our first 7 games, and out-scoring our opponents 45 to 38, we had our streak going... then we slid into Los Angeles.
The Angles. They weren't in our outfield. They have a Trout in theirs and he caught everything. I'm not sure what kind of flies he was using, but nothing got past him, and we lost 3 out of 4 games in LA. It's all downhill from there.
Our starting pitching is doing... well... how we all expected.
Mike Minor is our best starter with a 3.86 ERA (Earned Runs Average - he's had that many people score on him).
Our newly acquired players aren't doing too shabby either. Lance Lynn (from the Yankees) leads our roster with 19 Strikeouts (K's). And Shawn Kelley (from the Washington Nationals) has 2 wins, with 7 innings pitched and a 2.57 ERA.
Jose Leclerc is still our Closer, despite allowing Arizona to score 4 runs on us, leading to a loss and a win. Leclerc only has two saves on the season.
Good News...
We are only 13 games into the season. We may have been lucky like the Orioles in our first few games, but we can find our stride still!
Hunter Pence, the "old guy," is knocking them out of the park! He's only played in 8 games and has 21 AB (At Bats), 7 Hits, 1 HR (Home Run) and a BA (Batting Average) of .333. Second highest BA on our team. For a 36 year old guy... I'm impressed!
Odor is out with an injured knee, which may be a good thing since his BA is .167. He can take the next 10 days to re-group and get his swing back. Danny Santana is being brought up from the minor league. Check this article to read more about this kid.
Go to a Game!!! It's the last year of the stadium! Soak it up!! It's a beautiful ballpark and is the last time you'll see real grass. Tear.

Seven Days in Utopia
I highly recommend watching this alone. It's kind of slow, but I love the story! Robert Duvall is the best! And has the greatest quote in any sports movie (or one of the greatest)... "How can a game have such an effect on a man's soul?"
