GO MAVS!!! 24-28 (wins ~ losses)
If you've seen the news lately... you know a big trade happened between the Mavs and the New York Knicks!
The "Unicorn" has come to Dallas!!
Knicks players traded to Dallas:
Kristaps Porzingis - Power Forward
Courtney Lee - Shooting Guard
Tim Hardaway Jr. - Guard
Trey Burke - Point Guard
*they will play after physicals are completed
Dallas players traded to Knicks:
Dennis Smith Jr. (tears) - Point Guard
DeAndre Jordan (dude we just got from the Clippers) - Center
Wesley Matthews (love that dude) - Shooting Guard
Two future FIRST round Mavs draft picks
Looks like our Dallas owners like giving up First Round draft picks. Hopefully Porzingis turns out as good as the Cooper trade did for the Cowboys, if not better!
Bad news first... Porzingis is recovering from ACL surgery on his left knee. He will NOT play the rest of the 2018-2019 season. Sad.
Good news... Porzingis, 23 years old (from Lithuania), has loved Dirk, 40 years old (from Germany), and mimicked his shooting style during his early career. So, basically, we're getting a baby Dirk.
"Baby Dirk, doo doo doo doo doo, Baby Dirk, doo doo doo doo doo... like Baby Shark?" (I have nieces and nephews, they teach me these songs, just go with it)
Current state of the team... we have Dirk, the T-Rex from the first Jurassic Park movie, and Doncic, the Velociraptor from Jurassic World (we'll name him Blue). The both get the job done, it just looks different than it used to!
Luka (from Slovenia) is also excited for Porzingis to be on the team!! So we'll see what other players we can get to take us to the NBA Finals in 2019-2020!
p.s. We beat the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight and Doncic made history. His 35 point game tonight made him the sixth player since 2000 to score 1,000 points before age 20 (per ESPN). His elite club consists of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Devin Booker and Dwight Howard.
Looks like Doncic's ankle is feeling better! Which is good, I'm trying to go to a game next week and I hope to see him play!
Coming up... the NBA All-Star weekend! Feb 15-17
Here's the full schedule.

A lot has happened since this significant loss... our Offensive Coordinator was fired, Scott Linehan, and was replaced with Kellen Moore. A former Cowboys player and Dak's backup QB in 2017. Crazy how much your life can change in two years! Then, Moore announced that Jon Kitna, another Cowboys back-up QB to Romo is now the new QB Coach, replacing himself.
Garrett's contract was not extended, yet. So we'll see how this all plays out!
We'll never get a GM that's not our Owner. So we must live with the good and bad! I'm shockingly thankful for the Cooper trade. Ridiculously thankful for the Vander-Esch pick, and for them believing that Jaylon Smith would recover from his crazy injury and play again! I'm also thankful for Zeke and him simmering down on the party life during the season. As well as Dak showing his toughness down the stretch! I'm not an expert on football... I'm a chick that never played and has watched from the stands my entire life. But, I think we're moving in the right direction!
Super Bowl 2021, here we come!
As for the Super Bowl this year... here's the breakdown...
Bill Belichick vs. Sean McVay
Aaron Donald vs. the WORLD!!! Who didn't give that guy enough credit when I was looking at our match-up vs. the Rams. Sheesh! That dude dominated the entire game. Ugh. Hurts to go there... moving on. Don't mention Talib!
What will help each team win...
Experience and Brilliance? Patriots - Brady's 9th Super Bowl
Brilliance and Naivety? Rams - they're silly and could pull this thing off
These two teams made it this far because they are more than capable of winning and winning on the big stage.
The Patriots are always in control, until they're not.
Will we see the Patriots that "play dead" and destroy their opponent in the 4th Qtr like they did vs. the Falcons in 2017? Or, will we see the Patriots that got beat by the Eagles in 2018, despite having one of their best defensive players sitting on the bench?
Sean McVay is the most exciting, new thing about coaches this year. Everything and everyone he talks to seems to turn to gold in the NFL world. I'm not on the bandwagon here, but he's doing something right to land his team in the Super Bowl. He's only 33 years old, btw.
Who do I think will win?
As much as I would like to see another team win, part of me wants to see Brady, at 41, whoop up on this Rams team! But I'm game either way!
My ideal matchup would have been Brady vs. Brees. So sad this is not the case. Sorry Saints fans... I feel for you!
And no, I won't be at a Super Bowl party. I say it every year... these parties should be hosted during the pre-season. I've never understood why we get a ton of people together, who don't watch football all season and only want to watch commercials, to gather for the biggest game of the year! Any other time, the more the merrier! But this chick likes to listen to the commentary! Keep your commercials and halftime concert... I'm good with just football!
No, I don't know who is performing during halftime.
And... here's the complete list of 2019 NFL Hall of Fame inductees.

I have not posted since our loss to the Rams, because it was an ugly loss, and it hurt. We would have gotten creamed had we made it any deeper into the playoffs, but one day... it would be nice to get there! Random Info...
Something I've been involved in and have a passion for is to help put an end to Human Trafficking, Sex Trafficking and all forms of human slavery!
I saw this post with a few NFL players who are standing up for the Sex Trafficking that happens surrounding the Super Bowl! It is a disturbing thing that has gone on for decades and now players themselves are speaking out for the victims!
It's called It's a Penalty. Checkout the website and read about the great stuff they're doing! Here's an interview with Andy Dalton.
Benjamin Watson from the Saints has always done this! He works with IJM and does great stuff with them! Watch this clip. I know we all wish the Saints had gone to the Super Bowl, but this dude has already won! His character, love for people, and the Lord is encouraging, to say the least.
I have a good friend who works for A21, who also helps fight this fight, and is impacting the world globally!!
But it is not just a global issue, this is an issue that very much so impacts us in the US and we should not turn a blind eye to.
I encourage you to click on these links and educate yourself. It's a Penalty's website states that "Prevention is even better than a cure." Which means we have to be a part of calling things out when they don't look right or we know that trafficking of any kind is taking place!
Here is the National Human Trafficking hotline. I have it programmed in my phone, and encourage you to do the same.
