GO RANGERS!!! 22-16
1st in AL West (.579)
4th in ALToronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers...
What happened???
This was a GREAT series!!! I didn't even get to watch all of the games, but to see the one today...
It's a nice Sunday afternoon... you take the family to a Rangers Game, everyone has a hot dog, nachos and a Dr Pepper... great lineup... the Rangers coming off an extra innings win Saturday night...
LINEUP: RANGERS (20-16) VS. BLUE JAYS (19-18)
- 1. Rougned Odor, 2B (L)
- 2. Ian Desmond, CF (R)
- 3. Nomar Mazara, RF (L)
- 4. Adrian Beltre, 3B (R)
- 5. Prince Fielder, DH (L)
- 6. Mitch Moreland, 1B (L)
- 7. Elvis Andrus, SS (R)
- 8. Ryan Rua, LF (R)
- 9. Bryan Holaday, C (R)
- SP: Cesar Ramos, LHP
Fast forward to the 7th inning...
...The Rangers made a comeback with Ian Desmond's 3-run home run in the bottom of the 7th to put us up 6-7...
**Ian Desmond's last 11 Home Games: .391 Batting Avg, 4 doubles, 3 HR's, 15 RBI's - looks like this kid found his groove**
...then the top of the 8th, Bush hits Jose Bautista in the side...
Payback? Game 5, 2015, ALDS... watch the video...
Flashback... It hurts. The Rangers made multiple errors in Game 5; the Blue Jays fans were terrible, and then with the Jay's comeback... Bautista, not only hits a home run, but stands at the plate for 3 seconds and then blatantly flips his bat! (you could probably insert choice words here and that is what it felt like he was saying to the Rangers and their fans). Like I said, it hurt. We made a ton of mistakes in this game, but this was not your normal home run celebration or #BatFlip.
So, what does Odor do when Bautista slides into second base and try to take out his legs (which is illegal)... he clocks him! Dude just all out punches Bautista! Right hook. Dang. Benches clear and it takes 15 minutes to resume play.
I confess, it felt good watching him do it. Not that it was the right thing to do, but it felt like he took care of business the old fashion way.
And, it's not like this doesn't happen in hockey almost every game! Here is Barry Melrose's take on it... and his team IS the Blue Jays. He was just upset Bautista didn't get the first punch in.
Bottom Line... the Rangers won the series. We lost 3 our of 4 games in Toronto two weeks ago, so we needed this series badly!
And our pitching is slowly getting better and better. Banister is figuring out the rotation and our bullpen guys are stepping up! We still need stronger starts from Perez and Holland. Holland gets his chance tomorrow vs. the Oakland A's in Oakland.

Go to a game!!! Spring in Texas is the only chance you have at nice weather for baseball... until we make it to the postseason and play Fall Ball! :)
Friday night Fireworks (my favorite) - almost any Friday

BYRON NELSON
The Byron Nelson Golf Tournament begins tomorrow, Monday, May 16th! Best days to go watch are Saturday, May 21st and Sunday, May 22nd.
We'll see if Jordan Spieth will make the cut. This is his hometown and he has to redeem himself from missing the cut at The Players Championship last week. He will do it!
Here's a list of players in the tournament.
This is a great event to go watch if you live in the Dallas area. It is fun to sit at hole 17 and watch the pairings come through.
**Pretty sure that is where my family and I saw Dave Campo in my high school years and he let my sisters and I try on his Super Bowl ring. We thought that was so cool!**

Jeep Wranglers...
There's something freeing about driving a Jeep Wrangler.
One of my sisters and bro-in-laws talked about Wranglers for years before I bought one. I knew they weren't lying about how much fun they are, but man... they are FUN!
I've always had a small sports car and love going fast. I don't like dealing with Dallas traffic and love weaving in and out of bigger vehicles to get to my destination. I'm a speed limit driver or 5 over... but I don't like being slow.
Into my life comes a Jeep Wrangler... I don't care if I even go the speed limit when I'm in this thing. I am smiling the whole time I'm on the road. I wave at other Wranglers, roll the windows down every chance I get, and have country music cranked up.
Having a bad day and need to cry, drive the Wrangler, she listens and tries to make you happy.
Yes, it is just a Jeep. A materialistic item. Something I do not want to put too much importance on. But, since I need a vehicle to get from point A to point B, I am thankful I am able to drive a Wrangler. It makes me happy! Maybe because it's yellow?? Or because I'm short and like being high up?? Or... it's just a Jeep?
