GO COWBOYS!!!
I never thought I would say goodbye to DeMarco Murray so soon. (No, I don't really know him, but you know what I mean). I liked him. He seemed like a great guy. So, thank you for everything you did for The Dallas Cowboys! We, the fans, appreciate it.
And then, The Eagles entered the picture. The land of booing.
For those of you who haven't been in daily/weekly debates about the fate of his future, since October, there are two main views: those who believe that he was used up too much last year and stats prove he will be much less productive this year (aka, not worth more than $6M a year) or... he was loyal to the Cowboys, played through a few injuries (Romo takes the cake on that accomplishment) and eventually stopped fumbling, so we should have kept him!
Where do I stand? There's no right or wrong answer here. I agree with both sides. Yes, stats prove that a Running Backs do not have outstanding years back to back. Emmitt was able to do it, but that's not how the game is played anymore.
I do believe that a team needs a level of trust and chemistry. Not in a cheesy way, but in a way that proves that they have each other's back and enjoy playing together! Many teams without fun and camaraderie win championships. Yankees, 26 World Series Titles. New England Patriots, 4 Super Bowls. But, Dallas Teams seem to need it.
The Dallas Stars had a great team in 1999, when they won the Stanley Cup. The Texas Rangers had the best chemistry with the "claw" and "antlers" in 2010 and 2011. Game 6. Buckner. And as most Dallas sports analysts like to say... the Dallas Mavericks Championship in 2011 was "lightning in a bottle." No one can deny the emotion on that team, that Cuban broke up the following year. And Jerry or Stephen (Jones, his son) has done the same thing.
I know, I know. They kept our Offensive Line. I get it. You're supposed to slot ANYONE in as RB and expect the same results as Murray gave us. Dunbar is still a threat and will be a great asset for our team. I mean, he did graduate from UNT, caw caw!
We did just sign Darren McFadden, a running back. Mr. Madden '08. He spent the last 7 years 6 feet deep in Oakland. And he's from Arkansas, where Jerry is an Alumni and large supporter of everything Arkansas! I'm not thrilled, but there is upside, and we'll see what we do in the Draft.
Current state... kept our O-Line (yay!), Romo is as healthy as he's ever been (in the off-sesaon), Jerry threw the Franchise Tag on Dez, which only delays the drama with Jay Z, Dan Bailey is working on becoming 100% accurate, Sean Lee is healthy, and we cross our fingers that Stephen and Jerry draft Defensive players for us!
Who do I want for a Running Back?? So glad you asked! I won't be sad if we get Todd Gurley, from Georgia. He had knee surgery, but that shouldn't be a problem. But... my dream kid is now Ezekiel Elliott!! If you watched this year's first NCAA Football Championship game... you saw this kid, playing for Ohio State and Urban Meyer, destroy the Oregon Offense. Do you know who built the program at Oregon until 2013? Chip Kelly. Now the Head Coach for The Philadelphia Eagles. And now DeMarco Murray's boss. So, if we have to wait a year for Elliott to enter the Draft and get him for a decent price... I'd love to whoop up on Philly in 2017 with this kid!! :)
More to come... the NFL Draft is April 30-May 2. In Chicago. Sad it's not in NYC.

GO MAVS!!! 42-25
Until tonight, the Mavs lost 6 out of their last 8 games. But, they broke that with a win over the LA Clippers! 129-99!! Yes, they're without Blake Griffin, and...
Cuban brought back Tyson Chandler this season, but I doubt the guy knew he'd be our crutch! He had his 26th double-double tonight! Chandler Parsons is a huge asset too! 22 points against the Clippers! Watch.
Rondo still hasn't meshed consistently, but it is getting better! We are plagued weekly with random injuries, as most teams are at this point in the season. We are 3rd in the Southwest Division. Not out of the Playoff race, but we have to step it up going down the stretch!!
Check out the full season schedule.

GO RANGERS!!!
Our season last year started with our pitching rotation dropping one by one. This year has started with Yu Darvish, our "Ace" pitcher, opting for Tommy John surgery and will be out for the season. There's the slight possibility he would be back for the Playoffs or World Series, when we make it again!
My guess is Holland for Opening Day? Not sure, but we'll see how things shake out during the rest of Spring Training.
The Ben and Skin Show had our new pitcher, Anthony Ranaudo on the radio the other day. Dude is from New Jersey and they asked him some funny questions! Worth listening to!

It's been a mild Winter, but still too long! The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend, so get outside!
Ride a bike, play golf, go to the shooting range, do yard work, help a neighbor, hug someone... don't waste a minute of daylight! :)
